Hope your Thanksgiving was full of great food. I haven’t quite come to terms with how to celebrate the American holiday while knowing exactly what it stands for. I chose to work through dinner, and felt pretty happy about that decision. Instead of offering you all a big bowl of heavy-duty feminist topics, we’ve decided to take a few hours break for some light and fluffy fashion fun.

When gearing up for this winter, I realized I needed a revamp of my wardrobe. Nothing was warding off the nasty of the world. Even now, I feel guilty for my mind concentrating hard on clothes, when there are so many other more important pressing issues I need to be thinking about. I figured, maybe with a few nice outfits, I can start tuning the voice I need for really getting the word out. Thanks to ModCloth and Polyvore, I was able to create these feminist outfits, perfect for inspiriting a way to save the world! Every item featured is from ModCloth.com, which offers sizes up to US 28 (4X.)

Our first look is Read My Lips. An outfit of all black never fails. Simple additives of plaid will make you stand out as one of the baddest bitches in the game, while simultaneously intimidating people into leaving you alone. This is an outfit for not being touched without permission and not being told to smile. You’re not compromising beauty for warmth in this layered, comfortable, and daringly straight forward outfit. Your skull sweater will remind everyone that you’re not to be fucked with, while your red gloss will make it easier for them to READ IT ON YOUR LIPS.

Little foo-foo is a look built for our Manic-Pixie-Dream-Girls. You’re stylish and unique. Remarkable and empowering. You’re everything everyone desires. Your collard, long-sleeved,  skater dress creates an ambiguous social and economic status, for all man to attempt to rescue you from. Your orange Oxford flats help you appear dainty and young, fulfilling the school girl fantasy that’s been written for you in the script of every movie. Your cloud necklace is a reminder of the dark misogynist cloud forever looming over your head, because even though you wear a smile, it’s only because a stranger told you to. In your rabbit coin purse is where the truth lies: being a feminist makes you aware of the stereotypes womyn are thrown into by patriarchal standards, but knowing it is ok to fulfill them when it is you are in power of own decision.

This look is dedicated to our internet bloggers. The ones who don’t want to show their face in public because they’ve already felt jaded on the streets. You feel better staring at your phone screen because people in the real life are awful. In the light of recent events, even your Facebook news feed has become a breeding ground for racists and apologists. The collar of your Salt and Peppery BB Dakota coat will keep you warm and protected, matched with a hat to keep your face shielded. You’ll be able to blend in with your fellow fashionista, while still layin’ low and remaining undistracted from the little bubble you have to live in order to survive.

We call this look All Over Campus, because you’ll be schooling heterosexual white men in all directions. They’ll know you’re more educated, calm, and collected by how seamless your color scheme is. You’ve got velvet boots that are comfortable and smooth, which makes for an easy sailing while you walk without utilizing the “buddy system.” Not to mention, your Campus Strolling coat proves you’re always ready to educate someone on their excessive use of privilege. Of course, a deep tinted lip gloss pencil keeps it chic.

You’ll feel like John Waters’ latest inspiration in this Soda Pop Princess ensemble. Clean, but easy to be seen, this flamingo jacket will keep you walkin’ with the pink ladies. Your post card clutch helps you quick to travel with that coo-ooo-ool rider from your dreams that you’ve been waiting for. With ice cream nail files, you’ll be able to keep your cool and keep your nails sharp for when you have to defend yourself against an indecent cat-callers.
